Beyond my studio practice, I am dedicated to bridging the gap between ancestral storytelling and contemporary art through hands-on education.

For the past four years, I have collaborated with leading cultural institutions to facilitate workshops that blend folklore, technology, and self-expression.

My goal is to provide young artists with the technical tools and creative confidence to tell their own stories.

Neon Baybayin Workshop

Partnered with: Herschel Supply, Alcove Centre for the Arts, Werklund Centre and High Schools Across Calgary: high-tech exploration of identity. In this workshop, I teach participants how to use EL-wire and industrial materials to "illuminate" personal symbols. Starting with ancient scripts like Baybayin, we move from 2D designs into glowing light assemblages, teaching the basics of circuitry and spatial design.

Jeepney Mech: Designing the Future

Partnered with: VS Creative Lab (Vancouver). Based on the world of my debut comic AKLAS, this workshop invites students to reimagine the iconic Philippine Jeepney as a futuristic "Mech." We explore the history of Jeepneys and the cultural importance of the symbols used to design the vehicle, encouraging participants to fuse their own heritage with sci-fi imagination.

Zine Culture & Guerrilla Storytelling

Partnered with: Contemporary Calgary: Focused on the "Do It Yourself" spirit, we cover layout, aesthetics, and visual narrative, empowering students to self-publish their work and understand that they don't need a gallery to be an artist.
